Thank you to all residents who attended the annual membership meeting on 6/25/22. Updates were shared about legislation and the Paradise Grill parking.

New officers were elected and can be found on the Board of Directors page. As always, we encourage input from any resident by contacting any Board member.

Find out more

The Bayside Homeowners Association (BHOA) was established and incorporated in February 2011 to ensure the rights of leaseholders in the Pot-Nets Bayside Community are upheld.  Currently, there are over 1000 leaseholders, who either reside full-time or part-time in Bayside.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE

from

BHOA Board of Directors

The following officers will be stepping down from their current positions on the BHOA Board of Directors:

Michael Bonner, President

Eileen Tuthill, Vice President

Kathleen Bonner, Secretary

Michael and Kathleen will be relocating. Eileen has agreed to stay on the Board, as a Director instead of Vice President, and to remain the Delaware Manufactured Homeowners Association (DMHOA) Liaison for the BHOA.

Elections for BHOA officers will be held at the 2022 Annual Meeting, and the Board is currently recruiting BHOA members to take over the positions that will be vacated, effective June 25, 2022. All Board positions are held by volunteers, who do not receive compensation, in accordance with the BHOA Bylaws.

Since 2011, the BHOA has been operational, and Bayside leaseholders have been responsible for the management of their own homeowners’ association, as stipulated by the State of Delaware. The Board must consist of volunteer residents wishing to establish solid and trusting relationships within the BHOA Board of Directors, and encourage BHOA members, the Pot-Nets Bayside Community, and/or the Landowner to maintain and improve the quality of life in Pot-Nets Bayside.

The responsibilities for each position are listed in the BHOA Bylaws, and will be more fully described in the Operations Manual, currently being created. The Bylaws can be found on the BHOA website at www.bayside-hoa.com on the “ABOUT” page. Please take a few minutes to review the Bylaws to see if you would be interested in volunteering for any officer position, including treasurer, an officer position that may also become available in 2022.

Do you have a skill set that could transition into an available position on the BHOA Board of Directors? The BHOA Board of Directors is made up of your neighbors, full-time and part-time, who have volunteered their time to ensure the rights of Bayside residents are protected.

Anyone considering joining as an officer or director must be willing to:

1. Educate themselves on the laws affecting manufactured homeowners, including, but not limited to, Title 25, Chapter 70.

2. Stay current on existing and upcoming legislation affecting manufactured homeowners, which is provided by DMHOA.

3. Promote membership and educate residents of Bayside.

4. Attend and participate in Board Meetings (usually 4/year), the Annual Membership Meeting, and, if issues arise, other meetings, as appropriate.

Of course, there are additional responsibilities, as noted in the Bylaws. Maybe you have an interest in attending to legal issues, or are comfortable with secretarial duties, or with numbers to be the treasurer.

Please consider volunteering. Current officers will be available as mentors well into 2022.

If you are interested in an officer position, please contact any one of the following members of the Board of Directors, as soon as possible:

Michael Bonner, President 302-231-8393

Jacqueline Duchesneau, Treasurer 860-331-9374

Kathleen Bonner, Secretary 302-231-8393

If you would like discuss a specific position to find out more, Board Members would be happy to talk with you by phone, or meet with you personally.
